Greetings, friends!
I’m taking a much needed day off from studying, so I figured it’d be time to post a little, personal update. As it would seem, updates to this page are becoming less and less frequent. There are mainly two reasons for this. First of all, this blog was mainly based on my crazy, drunken adventues which I haven’t had a lot of lately. Secondly, I just realised how much free time I had last semester when I started this blog as opposed to how little free time I have now.
As I mentioned in an earlier post, school has started again. This has been a mixed experience for me. It’s great to be back, it’s great to have something to get up to in the morning, it’s been incredibly great seeing all of my friends again (even though, this year I have been spending a lot of time with many of them over the summer) .. But it’s also been tough and stressing! Granted, 16 weekly lessons doesn’t sound like a hell of a lot but once you look at it it starts adding up: Take the 16 lessons, add at least twice that in preparation and we’re already at 48 hours.. Add the 12 hours that I spend weekly at my job and we’ve already reached a 60 hour work week.. Whoever said students have an easy time needs to have his or her head kicked in.. If the secondary idea of a university education is to prepare us for future employment in stressed environments, it’s certainly worked
So, what to do with the little time that we don’t spend caught up in books? Well, needless to say there’s been some amount of partying
September 1st we bid all the new students at SDU Campus Kolding welcome with the traditional Pubcrawl around downtown Kolding. This pubcrawl is a kind of mythological experience that I’ve been lucky to attend three times now.. Once in my freshman year, where I got dragged semi-naked around town, and twice where I’ve been part of the organizing team and helped drag hopeful young students around town. The basic idea behind the pubcrawl is to give the new students an introduction to the city and eachother by dragging them around to some of the most happening bars and clubs, give them a drink or two each place and have them perform some sort of crazy activity. The end result is, usually, a lot of drunken fun culminating in a large, awesome party at the university lasting well into the wee hours. This year was no exception, we had a large team to drag around town, but aside from losing one guy at a downtown club before heading back to the university, we didn’t screw up too much and a good time was had by all.. We might even have ended up getting ever so slightly drunk at the after party.. Oh well, shit happens
The Friday after, I had a bunch of friends over for dinner and wine.. We were supposed to have been quite a large group, but thanks to a cold and flu epidemic sweeping the land, we ended up being only Morten, Christian, Zascha, Emelie and I.. Oh well, not the worst of crowds, I dare say! And we did have a ton of fun, shopping cooking, eating and playing games in an ever so slightly intoxicated state of mind
Poor Zascha wasn’t feeling well, so she went home rather early and after that, the rest of us decided to move the party to the campus bar, the Uboat, where we met up with Penny, Dunkel, Iben and (crazy) Mads who seemed to have had some contest going about who could get more drunk in as little time as possible.. Laying down all the details would be too exhausting, but they sure were interesting to bump into! We stayed at the Uboat till around 2:30 when Morten had to catch a bus back to his hometown and Christian and I decided it was about time to go home.. We were joined by Iben and Emelie who also dug the idea of going home.
Did I ever mention we’re not good at planning in advance? Well, Morten did catch his ball despite of having a rather hard time rounding up the troops as we were leaving and having to stand through the lot of us trying to play a heated soccer game using a serving tray from the cafeteria as a makeshift ball (???) .. Iben also made it home as planned, but Christian, Emelie and I ended up at a pub downtown sampling Belgian beers.. Mmmm
We finally made it out of there at about 3:30 or so, Christian and I walked Emelie home and then went back to my place. Christian was supposed to sleep on the couch as his parents would be picking him up the next morning, but apparently we’d have none of that.. We’d gotten a rather good talk going and eventually we ended up sitting up till past 6:30, sharing another bottle and a half of wine and talking about everything and nothing.. Ooops!
So yea, that’s at least two good parties this semester so far
What else have I been doing? Well, mostly hanging out with friends.. Which in my case means mostly spending time with Iben, Zascha and Emelie.. So much time, apparently, and in such a way that I’m apparently either busy hooking up with all three of them or heavily involved with one or two of them depending on which rumor you want to believe
Humourous, really.. But hey, kinda nice, too.. I mean, it’s not every day you get accused of having scored with one of three wonderful girls.. Lucky me! I just hope either of my three supposed girlfriends won’t get upset with the two others.
