And it’s that of “Candidatus Informationis Technologiae (cand.it.)” !

At least, that’s what the letter I just received says.. In other words, I just received my official diploma for the completion of my Master degree. I’m sitting here with it in left hand, looking at it, feeling all sorts of weird sensations. Mainly good ones. Strange how the culmination of 21 years in the educational system can be forged into such a relatively small document and yet weigh so heavily.

Some have asked what my diploma looks like and what title I’ve been awarded. Well, I don’t have a scan, at least just yet, but the wording is pretty simple:

Johan Christian Bruhn Johansen

Cpr Nr: 290781-XXXX

has on the 25 September 2009 passed

cand.it i Webkommunikation (Danish title)

Web Communication (English Title)

and has thus been awarded the title of

Candidatus informationis technologiae (cand.it.) med linie i IT, Kommunikation og Organisation (Danish title)

Master of Science in Information Technology (English title)

It’s still quite an unreal feeling. It is all really over. It’s a good feeling, though, a somewhat uncertain one, but a good one. It’s a feeling of completion and one of a new beginning. All at once. A sort of personal rebirth and a chance to show that I can make it in the real world, come whatever may.. In the immortal words of Tommy and Dee Dee Ramone: “Hey, Ho, Let’s Go!”

I witnessed a pretty strange bit of behavior yesterday, which I guess is saying a lot coming from somebody who’s rather well known for his own – at times – rather strange behavior.. But.. Either way..

I was on my way home after one of those evening walks that I quite enjoy after long days of being locked up inside working on a major written assignment. I had almost made it home and was walking along a major road leading up to the intersection where I live. When, from a side road, two youngsters turn out onto the sidewalk in front of me. I don’t really think much of it besides noting that the guy on the left looks like he belonged in the Trench Coat Mafia of Columbine fanme, what with his black emo hair, black clothing and black trench coat and all.. I didn’t really have tome to think about it anyways because as soon as they’re on the road in front of me, trench coat guy lets out a huge shriek and in a voice that’s evidently still on the verge of breaking cries out “I AM NINJA!, jumps in the air, spins one, runs out onto the road, busts a few 70’s Kung-Fu movie like moves in the general direction of his companion, lets out a shrill “KIAAAYYYY”, spins, launches himself forwards and jumps straight into a low wall surrounding the local college.. After which he immediately half falls, half tumbles to the ground, where he lies wheezing and coughing for a few seconds before proclaiming “that fucking hurt!”

Not really knowing what to think and say at this moment, I just stare at the scene for a minute, shaking my head and proclaiming “Shinobi, you’re doing it wrong!” before moving on, leaving this horrible insult to hundreds of years of Japanese warrior tradition in my wake.

I never did figure out what the whole scene was about, so I ended up just going home and grabbing some food, feeling more confused than a cat in a Monty Python skit.

Twas the day before Christmas and all throughout the house,

the heavy metal was blasting, proudly and loud,

slightly egged on by the news that he’d read..

Blah, that’s enough of that..But as you can probably tell, it’s Christmas.. And santa came bearing gifts.. One thing is to come home for a bit of rest on Christmas Eve and find a ticket for AC/DC lying in the mailbox.. A whole nother thing is that German Open Air Festivals, Rock Am Ring / Rock Im Park, chose the holiday period to announce some of the first acts for the 2009 festival, namely Placebo, The Killers, Volbeat, KillSwitch Engage, Trivium and Slipknot amongst others..And I don’t even think they’ve gotten around to spewing out headliners yet.. Woot!

So, cancel Christmas if you must, I don’t care, I already got my wishes! Ahem, anyways, yea, I was just gonna do a small update to show I’m still alive, somehow that turned into both some of the worst poetic injustice ever and a longer rant about music, but I promise to keep it short from now on. I’ve got things to do and places to be after all. I thought Xmas was gonna be a time of quiet relaxation and rest but I feel like I’ve done nothing but run around being stressed and zooming from one place to the other. And apparently it’s only just gotten started. So I’ll be off for a few hours of sleep on this fine afternoon before zooming off to my mom’s to spend the night with her and her new boyfriend or whatever he is.. Merry Christmas everybody! I hope to be back soon!

Or four to go.. Depending on how you look at it.. Well, before I confuse anyone any further: I finished my Web Communication project!! The written part anyways, there’s still the oral assessment of it to worry about. That, along with my Semantic Web and Agent Technologies exam next Friday and my Introduction to Programming assignment + oral thing come January.

I spent all of last night wanting to celebrate tbat I’d actually gotten over one major hurdle, but in retrospect I’m glad I didn’t. Not only have I spent 8 hours of today reading up on the Semantic Web, a topic that I’m actually starting to grasp by now, I also, just a few hours ago, discovered a couple of errors in my nicely done, printed and wrapped 45-page assignment.. Nothing major, mind you, just one of those kinda things that may cause you to fail on grounds of improper handling of your sources and plagiarism.. Umm, which I guess is actually a pretty major thing since we all know how I feel about plagiarism after my rant against Coldplay the other day.. But oh well, it wasn’t anything that couldn’t be fixed after a few hours and a trip to uni to print out a couple of pages that had faced correction.

And now, having gone through his Semantic Web curriculum AND corrected his own damn mistakes, the Johan will rest.. And at least pretend to celebrate a little.. See, rummaging through the local supermarket today, I came across some sirloin steaks which were actually cheaper than the flank steak I was looking for (and apparently never got), so who was I to pass that up? So, I guess I’ll fry those up, call it a celebration, keep it down enough for me to still get up tomorrow and continue my reading.. And try not to feel too sad about spending another weekend in, slaving over the books… I mean, it’s not like everybody are out having fun again or anything.. Bah, humbug!

What a busy week and a half it’s been, not only have I been pretty much too busy to post any updates, I’ve also been in the midst of a media blitz and a diplomatic circus of sorts that have forced me to keep my mouth shut until things were pretty much back under control and somewhat settled. I’ll try to post somewhat of an update as to what has happened over the last week and a half, but it will probably be of the fast forward kinda variety as there’s just been too many things taken place to mention and/or fully account for.

I woke up Monday morning last week to a slur of emails containing scanned press clippings featuring a cover story and series of articles regarding the Student House.

To make a long story, well less long, we, the members of the board have been struggling for a long time to clear up accounting and daily routine issues which are issues that have proven hard for volunteer students with limited time on their hands to fully take care of. After having spent a lot of effort and money on clearing things up, we’ve been forced to realize that leaving unpaid students to do such a job is both a very demanding and ungrateful chore. Hence, we’ve been looking for ways to employ a paid manager to keep track of finances, do basic accounting and make sure things were running smoothly. Not having the means to do so ourselves, we’ve been forced to ask the various educational institutions around town for financial help on the issue. They were, in general, interested in helping out but negotiations eventually stalled when they would only agree to pay half of the amount we asked for on grounds of some institutions not being willing to pay as much as others. After begging them on our bleeding knees to reconsider nothing much happened until the story hit the press this Monday.

Which caused a right uproar around time with politicians, deans and members of the municipality falling over eachother’s legs to comment on the story and the value of having a place for students to meet up and engage in various activities. When local TV picked up on the story, the thing really spun out of control and I was pending most of Monday at uni trying to pay attention in class while at the same time keeping up with the story and taking part in the storm of emails that were flying around. An emergency board meeting was eventually called on Tuesday morning and things once again became a bit heated when our chairman expressed unhappiness with the press circus.. and hence resigned. Which basically forced me, being vice chairman and all to stand up and assume the position.. Which wasn’t at all what I had bargained for, but damnit, having fought for so long, I wasn’t about to just give up. Besides, having an active student, involved in the house from the very beginning, as a human face on the whole charade probably wasn’t such a bad thing.

I spent most of Tuesday getting accustomed to my new role as well as working on my exam paper and bitching over my brand new phone which was dying on me. I ended up thinking the day couldn’t possibly get any worse until time came for me to go to work and I found out that my bike had a flat tire. Whining to myself and looking to Louise and Tina for comfort, I set off to work on foot and actually made it there only about five minutes late.. Go me. I spent four hours there and actually managed to borrow a replacement phone from a co-worker.. Which worked pretty fine, aside from the number 3 on the keypad not working. Luckily, Louise’s number had no 3’s in it, so I managed to give her a call and taking her up on her offer of dropping by the next day to borrow one of her old phones.. Thanks, sweets, and sorry for waking you from your slumber

In the first really lucky move of the day, I managed to catch a ride home with my boss and pretty much immediately passed out and slept for about 10 hours. I woke up Wednesday realizing that my phone would probably not be covered with warranty since I may or may not have dropped it once or twice and gotten it a little wet on some occasions, so I sucked it up, went downtown and browsed for a new one. In a lucky stroke of luck, I got a really, really good deal on a new Sony Ericsson 5MP camera phone. Not long after returning home, I got an SMS from Louise that she’d just gotten off work and that I was welcome to drop by for the phone.. Well, I already had a phone, but I hadn’t seen her in ages, had some eggs for her (long story), and had gotten some chocolate with her name on it at work the other night (an equally long story).. So I figured I would just drop by anyways.. Which I’m glad I did because seeing her again was awesome. We basically just hung out, chatted, watched TV, had coffee and goofed off for a while, catching up before I reluctantly had to go as Dunkel had kidnapped me for dinner that night.. And movies.. And drinks it seemed..

So, yea I managed to stagger home some time Thursday morning and get some sleep before getting up, having breakfast and heading back down to Dunkel’s to watch some more movies, goof off some more and have a few more drinks. We were eventually joined by Kent and Ulrik who dragged us to some shady bar across the street where we hung out with the locals for a while, spending way too much money before returning to Dunkel’s for a late night snack and a beer. The scene of last night pretty much repeated itself and I staggered home, only to sleep for a while and being woken by Dunkel who once again needed company.

Now, I had some things to take care off on Friday and so I did first, before donning my fancy clothes and heading down to Dunkel’s.. We were attending a Halloween party at Ricki’s later that evening, but first we were gonna try and do some recording work for his band which was rather fun. After dinner, we made an agreement to share a cab with Louise to Ricki’s as she lived just down the street, so we called for a cab and went down to pick her up. As we did, I moved to give her a hug and she shoved me off rather fiercely and, before I had a chance to get too befuddled or pissed pointed to her neck which showed a nasty gash and quite a lot of theatre blood.. So yea, thanks once more.. Didn’t really matter too much, though, after one hell of a party at Ricki’s and quite a lot of free booze, I managed to trip on my own account on my way home and mess up my suit and shoes.. Lovely. Before doing so, though, I did drop by the Uboat to say hi to Tina who I hadn’t seen for ages and Christian, who I don’t remember seeing, sorry, but HI! All in all, I don’t remember too much about things at the Uboat, so yea.. Let’s just fast forward a bit more, this post is getting lengthy already after all.

I woke Saturday to a hefty hangover and a four hour cooking session involving a pot roast for tonight’s dinner that I was cooking for Tina, Jakob and Christian.. Okay, so, yea, long cooking sessions, insane hangovers and potent fumes from various pots and pans don’t mix too well, so after much complaining and whining, I was happy when Christian showed up to have a few beers with me. I was even happier when Tina and Jakob arrived especially since they came bearing gifts.. In the shape of a pack of bacon, six eggs and some tomatoes for the morning after.. Lovely! We did have a lovely time, but it was cut short by everybody being either tired, worn out or both. Tina and Jakob gave up rather quickly and Christian and I spent some more time listening to music and talking before he, too, had to return home.

Sunday was one of the last home games of the season for KFC and of course I had to go.. Me and, well, about two others.. At any rate only Ricki, Louise and I showed up for the pre-game beers at Domhuset.. We had fun, though, even at the game despite it being devilishly cold and not many more showing up at the stadium. Things got even more sad when we returned to Domhuset (after our first home victory of the season, I might add) and lost Ricki along the way. So, if it hadn’t been for Dennis and Jesper joining us, Louise and I might’ve felt pretty lonely at Domhuset, or so we thought as we sat there chatting, having a beer and trying to keep warm. Anyways, Frank, the manager, eventually arrived and we executed our evil plan of introducing warmth to our bodies by having a couple of Irish Coffees, so we walked to the bar and offered a couple of those and, incidentally, were served the best damn Irish Coffees I’ve ever had! No doubt! And they did warm you, through, as you’d expect from something which had three shots of Jameson in it. Feeling all warm and fuzzy and happy inside, we remained at the bar, chatted and ordered a second round. Jesper and Dennis, at some point, slipped out pretty much unnoticed (damn you and your Irish coffees, Frank! ) and things went really f’ing downhill from there as Louise and I kicked into a deep conversations and cocktail kinda mood.. Good f’ing times, though. After many good moments, funny anecdotes and downright silly things, all too numerous to mention here, I came to a moment of clarity and realized I had school the next day at 9 and as such had better get the fuck home. I made my goodbyes and headed out into the night, making it a full 100 yards before getting a call from Louise who had just remembered that she’d spent her last dime and was wondering if she could borrow some money. So, back I went, got another big hug from Louise and a, by now, familiar comment of “hah, I knew you guys had something going on” from one of the regulars. Being a little too tired of trying to explain things to him, I just sorta shrugged, kept my arm around Louise while ordering her a drink, getting some cash back from Frank, slipping it to her and giving her a loving squeeze before heading back out the door. I’m not sure that did anything to curb his confusion, but then we’d pretty much had fun laughing at his confused reaction to our friendship all night, so it seemed the only reasonable thing to do.

Heading home, the drinks of the night hit me like a jackhammer and I couldn’t help but laughing at myself for being so bad at keeping my promises to myself of not drinking too much.. But oh well, man did we have fun and I’d probably do it all over again.. And I think I’m gonna go ahead and cut this post off here.. Three more days to go, but things don’t get less busy or complicated from here, so I guess we all need a break. Or, well, I know I do. I just typed the equivalent of a 2000 word essay instead of working on my exam paper

I spent some time today with Dunkel cleaning Mads’ blood and traces from the forensics investigation from outside Dunkel’s apartment which was, admittedly, a bit of a weird job.. For me at least.

I’m pretty sleep deprived from not sleeping for about two days straight, but I promise I’ll be back with more updates once I’ve had some sleep. Last thing I heard, Mads was still stable, still in a coma, but cleared for visits, naturally we’ve sent flowers on behalf of the Kolding gang and I hear his parents are very appreciative of our support and have chosen to share with us whatever info they get.

Oh dear God.. Mads was assaulted this weekend. In a bad, bad way. So bad, actually, that it was all over the news here.. He was found Sunday morning unconscious in a pool of his own blood outside of Dunkel’s apartment. He was rushed to the hospital where he’s been on life support ever since.. His condition is critical but stable. He has literally had his face smashed in and even had his one ear nearly torn off.. Who would do something like that to another human being?

There are no words for what I’m feeling right now and how empty my existence feels today. Mads, our thoughts and prayers are with you, and we’ll come visit whenever you snap out of this coma! PLEASE get well soon!

Nürnberg is in Bayern (or Bavaria if you will), a region of southern Germany, and is indeed a very, very strange place. A place where the word Servus counts as a greeting, repetition of the mantra “SAUFEN, SAUFEN, SAUFEN!!” (drink, drink, drink!) serves as a proper means of communication throughout the weekend.. And a place where everybody, from the sounds of it seems to be looking for a girl by the name of “Helga”..

These facts, amongst others, caught us a bit off guard as we touched down on terra firma early Friday morning, happy to just get off the train. We immediately set out to get from the main station to the festival grounds. We decided on going by train and pretty quickly located the right platform as well as a bunch of other budding concert goers who pretty quickly started fueling our loathing for the Bavarian people by kicking right into their most popular pass time activity, crying out “SAUFEN!” in regular intervals. Anyways, the train arrived soon enough and the trip to Frankenstadion, the city’s main stadium at the outskirts of the festival grounds was barely noticeable.

Upon arriving at the Frankenstadion station, we stood around and pondered how to get from there to the festival grounds.. It turned out to be a simple matter of exiting the station because once we did, we were met by one of the most peculiar sights in the world. Everywhere, and I do mean EVERYWHERE in front of us were people and contraptions of various kinds.. Tents were pitched on whatever grass patches was around, cars vans and motor homes were parked wherever possible, tables, couches, party tents and what have you were sprawled out in the middle of the road, from somewhere in the crowd Metallica was blasting from a couple of huge ass speakers while elsewhere, people were piling together for a 9:30 AM keg party. We even saw a couple of old tour busses which people used for partying in – crazy.. Downright fucking crazy!

Still, we’d no way of knowing where we were or where to go from there. We thought we’d stumbled into the camping grounds by accident but it turned out that this was merely the public parking lots and not part of the festival grounds as such.. We figured this out by asking left and right, arguing a bit with grumbly security and more or less just trying our way forwards, taking whatever beating that might lead to. By a combination of these approaches we, after some time arrived at a small booth where our tickets were exchanged for the now common festival arm bands which act as your entrance pass through the days of the festival. With these on, and after some serious frisking, we now made it onto the dedicated camping grounds where we spent about an hour effortlessly walking around utterly confused, looking for places to pitch our tents. We did, however, notice a strange fluctuation in the helpfulness of the German people.. Some would sneer at us for even daring to ask for directions, while others would see us lugging our luggage and offer suggestions and directions to possible free spots. After an hour or so, we’d still come up empty, though.

We eventually decided to send the guys ahead with the tents to look for a suitable spot while Tina and I guarded the luggage. This left Tina and I plenty of time to get some much needed food and water while winding down a little after the long walk. Penny eventually arrived after an hour and a half or so and told us the good news that they’d found a good spot in the shade some mile or so away from our current location. So we fought our way through more of the parking lot, through more strange man made contraptions – including an old-school VW camper bus with a dining table mounted on the roof complete with 8-10 guys sitting around it eating steak and drinking beer (the purpose of this contraption escapes me, but I still found it worthy of mention) to our home for the weekend. Camping Site C8.3 located on the very outskirts of the festival grounds and as such pretty uncrowded

Upon arriving at the campsite, we found Dunkel and Henrik sitting around, looking dazed at the sight of our tent sprawled lifelessly over the ground. When questioned, they shrugged and pointed to the instructions which contained all of three steps and no pictures what so ever to help simplify the procedure. Sighing, we handed out a couple of beers and Tina, Dunkel and I got to work.. Okay, lets just be honest here, Tina got to work and Dunkel and I helped out as much as we could. Which limited us mostly to bolting things securely into place, holding stuff in place as she fixated them and bringing her whatever she needed while trying not to look like complete idiots.. At long last, I admitted defeat and decided to just head on over to the toilet building and get a bunch of toilet visit tokens that I knew would come in handy, for Tina especially, later.. That way I’d at least done something useful. Again I had nothing but love and respect for Tina and once again she more than saved the day.. Good work, babe!

After Tina saved our day and redeemed ourselves from some of the humiliation that had fallen upon us as the other campers watched us struggle with the tents, we sat down and had another beer just for the sake of celebrating our success. Penny and Henrik then decided to head downtown for supplies while Dunkel, Tina and I decided to go check out the newly opened stage areas.. We did so by way of some food stalls and a beer tent and were soon happy explorers. Tina, having never been to a larger festival seemed rather in awe by all of the activity, so Dunkel and I figured we’d better break her in easy by taking her to the Alternastage – the second largest stage – to see a performance by some band that none us had really ever heard about.. That way she could get pretty close up front and get a feel of what it was all about without the added bonus of a large crowd pushing us about.. It all seemed a good plan, had it not been for the fact that the bass on Alternastage had been pumped up to a point where we could barely stand it. So, before going on any further, we decided to return to base camp for ear plugs, supplies and for me to get rid of my glasses as to not lose them in the crowd later.

After this brief stop, we returned to the stage areas, once again taking our time to take in the sights and the sounds of the camping and parking areas. This time, we decided to go large and hit Center Stage, the largest stage where the headliners played for anywhere from 60 – 100,000 fans. Dunkel and I really wanted to catch Lostprophets and I had a feeling that Tina might really enjoy the show as well and luckily she agreed to tag along. Since they played at like 3:30 PM, we had absolutely no problems getting all the way up front and we figured, having come this far, we owed it to ourselves to at least get up front for one show.. So on we went and got some pretty awesome mid stage positions for what turned out to be one hell of a show. Dunkel and I are both pretty big fans of Lostprophets, so of course we were jumping the fuck around, yelling, singing (off key!), throwing horns and headbanging like crazy.. But hey, I saw even Tina jumping and pounding her fist from time to time and smiling brightly, so I guess I wasn’t too far off in thinking she’d like Lostprophets. Best part of the show was definitely the last three songs: “Shinobi vs Dragon Ninja”, “Last Train” and “Burn Burn” which incidentally are also the ones I know by heart. Moshing one on one with Dunkel during shinobi was awesome, as was the crowd singing the chorus on Last Train and Burn Burn is ever the crowd pleaser – and we had the added pleasure of having Ian Watkins storm through the crowd during the breakdown.. I even got a high five

Good times.. Tough times.. Jumping up and down for 30 minutes in 30 degree heat is just not good for you.. Apparently, according to poor Tina, our headbanging had also brought down a hail of sweat so no wonder we were feeling a little dehydrated when it was all over. So as Simple Plan prepared to hit stage, we decided to just go sit down and chill with some water and some beer. Incidentally, while we were sitting there chilling and listening to one of the only Simple Plan songs I actually know, we look over and go.. Hey, isn’t that Jamie Oliver from LostProphets standing right next to us talking to some chick? After a brief debate it was decided that it was indeed him and that we should go and try to get a photo with him. After downing a beer in about ten seconds, I muster the courage, put on a polite face and we walk over. It turned out that he was in fact Jamie Oliver from Lostprophets and that he was very proud to hear that we were such huge fans and that his band had been one of the deciding factors for us coming all this way. He even shook hands and was more than happy to pose for a picture. Which of course got everybody’s attention especially when someone not quite as subtle and polite as us cried out “Oi hey! You’re the fucking keyboard player from fucking Lostprophets!” We excused gave thanks and ourselves to Mr. Oliver and his lady friend before bailing out as the hail of paparazzis descended..

So far the day was off to a pretty good start.. And it was only to get better. I’ve been having a strange fascination with Kid Rock lately.. I mean, he’s just a funny character. I guess Dunkel feels the same way and following our last recommendations Tina wasn’t hard to persuade to stick around either. Center Stage was getting pretty crammed by now so we had to move up forward a bit to even be able to see just a little and so we did.. And I’m glad we did because this show was actually one of the biggest surprises of the weekend for me. I mean, Kid Rock actually ROCKED and the crowd was damn into it as well.. Probably playing “American Badass” in front of a crowd waiting to see Metallica by the end of the weekend helped quite a bit.. But so did “Sweet Home Alabama”, “American Rock History Medley” and “Bawitdaba.”

We considered heading back to camp for a while after Kid Rock, but since tonight’s headliner was “Die Toten Hosen”, Germany’s biggest punk rock band, and the co-headliner was apparently really big as well, we didn’t dare risk it out of fear of not being able to find a spot at all, so we stuck around, grabbed some food and eventually managed to sneak our way all the way up to the railing behind the wave breakers in front of the stage which made for a pretty nice spot for a band of this magnitude. It also involved getting Tina safely positioned against the railing with me behind her and Dunkel on my side in order to keep her out of harm’s way in terms of moshing or crowd surfing and what have you. Since we were on the side of the stage, not directly in front of it, we figured we’d be pretty safe..

So how were Die Hosen? Well, pretty damn awesome! Campino, the lead singer, came in on crutches having apparently broken his foot about a month ago after kicking a trashcan out of rage when Liverpool was eliminated from Champion’s League.. No, I kid you not! A few Heinekens seemed to do him good, though, and he was pretty soon running around on stage, jumping screaming and climbing things.. Yes, climbing.. Crazy motherfucker actually decided to put his broken leg to use and scale the entire height of the center stage lighting tower and sit on top of it while performing one of their songs with the mic in one hand and a lit road flare in the other.. Speaking of road flares, we spotted a few of those in the crowd as well.. Crazy! All in all, the crowd wasn’t too crazy, though. There was some moshing during a few songs, but nothing too bad.. Lots and lost of crowd sufers, though.. And I got pretty much all I wanted from the setlist including a heart felt performance of “Nur Zu Besuch” – as if that song isn’t touching enough as it is.. And of course, Hier Kommt Alex which also had me singing along with all the teenage girls crowded around us. After two sets of encores involving one which saw Campino playing his “Liverpool FC” custom guitar and a rendition of the ever so classic “You’ll Never Walk Alone”.. Man, you’d get to thinking these guys were Liverpool fans.. Die Hosen left the stage and we filed for the exit and set out on the long walk home to camp where, after 40 hours without proper sleep, we collapsed pretty quickly after a beer and a chat. Okay, actually two of us passed out during the chat, leaving me and Henrik (who’d popped into our tent to say hi) to finish our talk on our own before I headed for bed.. Time for a good nights sleep? Hmm, I guess we’d have to see about that!

Ahem.. So, I was told my last post may have been a bit on the angry and negative side.. Err.. Well, shit happens, and like I said, I don’t usually get this way, nor do I stay so for long.. So as expected, today looked quite a bit brighter.

Still not much to say, though.. Aside from some frantic running around in a bit of last minute panic and some struggling with making printers work at uni coupled with some forgetfulness on my own part and a couple of human errors, it’s been a pretty quiet day. I managed to get my report all printed, my code all tidied and uploaded, I even managed to add page numbers to my report in hand after I discovered I’d forgotten to do it on the computer.. Of course I managed to print three copies of all 23 pages before noticing, and the only reason I really noticed was because the printer puked and stalled 15 pages into the last copy and as I was flipping through the pages, I noticed I had a hard time figuring out how many extra pages I needed to print because there were no damn page numbers on my hard copies.. So well, there you go.. Something good actually came out of an error for a change, and I managed to get some writing done in hand for the first time in like.. years, probably. No wonder my hand writing is deteriorating.

But out of that, nothing special happened other than I got to spend a hell of a lot more time than expected at uni printing, punching holes, sorting and correcting mistakes. I then went down to Dunkel who offered up lasagna for dinner as he’d apparently only been able to find economy packages of minced meat.. But who was I to complain? We hung out, chilled, watched a show on Animal Planet about pet hippopotamuses (I want one!) and watched Scorched which wasn’t too awesome, but not too bad either.. Anyone else notice that Rachaeil Leigh Cook is kinda cute? Err.. Anyways, yea.. Good times. Ken dropped by for a while as well and we all watched some Simpsons and goofed off. Ken seems to think that Dunkel and I are kinda weird and have a messed up sense of humor.. To that I say: “Bah humbug!” – ask anyone I know, I’m by no means a strange, little man! And my humor makes perfect sense.. Right? Okay, maybe I’m just a little weird.

Gah, it seems even WordPress is against me today. If you only got to see half of this post, I apologize. I was writing along happily and the editor thing just crapped out on me. I guess I’ll better stop now while I’m ahead of my game. I’m sorry if my posts are becoming a little dull, it’s really tough to find something fun and interesting to write about on working days. I suspect the weekend will bring good fun, though.
