Die Toten Hosen – Nur Zu Besuch

April 24, 2008 · Leave a Comment

.. This one really hits the head on the nail today.

I gots to keep on moving

April 21, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Wow, so it just occurred to me that I’ve put a lot of work into my exam assignment these past few days. Go me!  No wonder my head was spinning and hurting when I looked back at 4 PM today and realized that over the past two days, I’ve coded all major parts of the web application that I need to submit as well as having put four pages down for the accompanying written assignment.. That’s like, pretty much a lot for two day’s worth of efforts.. So I didn’t feel too bad about giving myself some time off to enjoy the weather, clear my head, go for a walk and try to beat the headache.

Through the magic of cellular phones, I ended up teaming up with Tina for my walk and we met up at the old castle downtown. Upon meeting up, she promptly took the time to point out that I looked like a caveman which was probably not too far off considering I’d spent a few days locked up in a damn basement, working on a damn paper.. Anyways, we went for a nice long walk around the grounds, all the way around the lake and even took time to sit down and talk and almost get eaten by a swan.. Word! After an hour or so of walking around, enjoying the sunlight, I dropped Tina off at Jakob’s and continued on my original quest, to go down to her apartment and pick up my iPod and some other stuff I’d left down there the last time around.. Yeah, why I didn’t do that with her in tow, I don’t know, but luckily I have my own key.

On the way to Tina’s, I ran into Mia from upstairs and Nadja from the Uboat who were apparently in search of ice cream together. All three of us sorta joked around about who was stalking who since I’ve been running into Mia especially left and right lately. I assured them that they’d have no further troubles with me as I was just heading out to pick up some stuff and wasn’t the least bit interested in ice cream.. So, I waved, left, got my stuff from Tina’s, started my walk back and almost immediately bumped into Mia and Nadja.. Ahem, well, making a joke of the whole situation, I pressed on for a little bit, then lo and behold, bumped straight into Tina who was standing around alone on the town square looking all cute, huddled up and confuddled.. Apparently also in search of ice cream. Having just been by, I suggested the place close to where she lived as the best option and being the good sport that I am, I agreed to tag along for the walk.

Arriving at the ice cream place minutes later who do we run into but.. Yes.. Mia and Nadja who were now visibly confused by the young caveman who was evidently stalking them and now heading for ice cream despite having just denounced the possibility.. Tina of course took it upon her to explain that this was all her fault whereas I decided to just break down and tell Mia that I just could not get enough of her and that I was in fact stalking her.. Because that’s apparently how I roll. She just laughed it off, though, and told me of their next whereabouts just in case I wanted to pop by unnoticed.. I decided against it, though, so Tina got her ice cream and I walked her back, went home, had dinner and everybody were happy.

Never really getting over my headache which seemed to return every time I plopped down in front of the screen, I decided to call it an early night and go spend the evening watching movies with Dunkel and Robert instead. And on that account, I’d like to include a small plug for Peter Joseph’s “Zeitgeist: The Movie” which is a (thought) provoking piece that I think everybody needs to watch! I’ve always sorta scoffed at conspiracy theorists, but while I don’t really agree with all the means of deduction, the methodology and the speculations presented as facts in this movie, he does present some very good points as well as some thoughtful questions and helps draw the watcher’s eyes to some very relevant and scary facts and developments that all of us are sadly way too ignorant about.

Clubbing Night / Working Day / Easter?

March 17, 2008 · Leave a Comment

So apparently last Friday was “Clubbing Night” at the Uboat. I’m not too sure what that meant, but apparently it involved various forms of club tunes and.. Well, not much else.. Except the usual, of course.. And for us regulars at the Uboat, “the usual” usually (duh!) involves a shit ton of beers, wacky fun and borderline obscene behavior.. Which is probably why the Uboat is about the only place in the world where a Clubbing Night will end up looking something like this:

Of course, there were other kinds of lewd behavior, but 10 boys dancing around in their boxers to the tune of Danish pop songs didn’t really make for work safe content, so you’ll have to use your imagination on that one.

Following such a rowdy night, it probably comes as no surprise to anyone that I spent most of Saturday sound asleep. Well, quite honestly it may have come as a bit of a surprise to my new buddy Martin with whom I’d arranged to meet up that afternoon to hand over to him a couple of things that he’d left behind at the Student House. He did, however somehow manage to get a hold of someone else to help him out, so the damage wasn’t too great.. I mean, the fact aside that he hasn’t really talked to me since and looked a little grumpy when I ran into him this morning. Ah well, shit happens ;) (Kidding, really. For the record, I’m sure he was just busy with getting to work this morning)

Saturday evening I spent at home in preparation for a hard working day on Sunday. This was probably for the better as I was worth absolutely jack shit after two nights of partying and my efforts amounted to nothing much besides getting off the couch in order to eat dinner.. Which was all good because frankly I could use more days like that.

Sunday, in turn, was the first day of Easter.. At least for those of us not quite holy enough to observe Lent and all that stuff. And yes, I use the term holy very loosely as I spent my Palm Sunday working my ass off the taking a long walk while listening to Slayer and Death metal before heading down to Dunkel’s to watch a few horror movies and play some survival horror games.. Yup, I’m sure Jesus would be proud.. But that’s how I roll.. And I had a great old time!

Actually, I’m pretty sure there won’t be too much Eastering about for yours truly this year, as I seem to have taken it upon me to pull extra chores at both my jobs as well as some school work that I need catching up on.. Yay.. Well, hopefully by the end of the week I’ll have some time off.. Right now all I know is that I need a damn nap before continuing on with my chores for the day.. Yawn!

Well, that went well..

March 14, 2008 · Leave a Comment

So, I make it back from camp for about 24 hours, ten of which are spent sleeping, before I fall victim to the sweet, sweet Jezebel that is cheep beers and free booze. Obviously after spending 48 hours in so-called “luxury isolation (which I can’t really talk too much about given the NDA that I signed), I had quite a bit of steam to blow.

I wasn’t really planning on getting my partay on, even, I just wanted to head down to the Student House, spin a few tunes, have a few beers and then that was supposed to be it. Eh, well, life had other plans for me, one beer begot another, friends showed up, Tina started winning beers which is usually good news for me since she’s so awesome at bar games that she always wins more than she can drink and is sweet enough to pass some on to the less fortunate (i.e. me).. Anyways, before I knew it, I was busy talking to Anders, Chris, Anne and others, throwing down beers at an admirable pace and having a damn good time doing it.. But then, that’s how I roll.

Not long after, I got pulled into a pretty heated game of Fuck The Dealer with Tina, Daphne, an ex-Olympic swimmer, a lesbian.. And other personalities as well! Which lasted right until midnight when we were forced by stupid regulations to shut the party down.  Not too content to go home and catch some sleep Tina, Jakob, Einar, Martin, Chris and I hang back for a while after closing time, having a beer, before unanimously deciding that the only reasonable thing to do was to pop open a bottle of Cava and share it between us on the short walk down to Lanternen, a favorite cheap (kinda sketchy) bar hang-out of ours..

We arrived in good fashion to find the place packed  with youngsters and not quite so young people co-existing in beautiful, drunken harmony. We struggled through the line at the bar and ordered up a round of beers and settled down to talk for a while. We were eventually joined by some of Martin’s colleagues plus Jimmi and a few others who just happened to be staggering around drunkenly.. The beers were plenty, it was all good fun, the attention from the middle aged women were a bit too much to bear.. And eventually the Johan got drunk. So drunk, in fact, that he decided to stagger home by way of the Student House to look for his iPod that had somehow mysteriously disappeared. Upon retrieving it, he naturally decided to listen to a bit of music, but not only that, of course. He also felt like he needed to inform the world about what he was listening to.. Which is why Zascha at close to 4 AM this morning received a rather drunken message detailing the awesomeness of Simon & Garfunkel’s “America”.. Yup, smooth, not like she had to get up at 7 or anything.  Well, sorry about that one, babe, sometimes ya just gotta do stupid things before going to bed..

Speaking of bed, I wholeheartedly expected to be hung the fuck over when I woke up on the couch (?!) this morning.. However, that never happened.. So, lets do it again tonight, shall we? :D

Linkin Park – One Step Closer

February 22, 2008 · Leave a Comment

I cannot take this anymore
I’m saying everything I’ve said before
All these words they make no sense
I find bliss in ignorance
Less I hear the less you’ll say
But you’ll find that out anyway

Just like before…

Everything you say to me
Takes me one step closer to the edge
And I’m about to break
I need a little room to breath
‘Cause I’m one step closer to the edge
And I’m about to break

I find the answers aren’t so clear
Wish I could find a way to disappear
All these thoughts they make no sense
I find bliss in ignorance
Nothing seems to go away
Over and over again

Just like before…

Everything you say to me
Takes me one step closer to the edge
And I’m about to break
I need a little room to breath
‘Cause I’m one step closer to the edge
And I’m about to break

Everything you say to me
Takes me one step closer to the edge
And I’m about to break
I need a little room to breath
‘Cause I’m one step closer to the edge
And I’m about to break

Shut up when I’m talking to you
Shut up
Shut up
Shut up
Shut up when I’m talking to you
Shut up
Shut up
Shut up
Shut up

And I’m about to break

Everything you say to me
Takes me one step closer to the edge
And I’m about to break
I need a little room to breath
‘Cause I’m one step closer to the edge
And I’m about to break

Everything you say to me
Takes me one step closer to the edge
And I’m about to break
I need a little room to breath
‘Cause I’m one step closer to the edge
And I’m about to break

Don’t look so scared, sweetie, just coz I hate LP doesn’t mean I can’t like a song of their’s or two.. Think early HIM ;)

Getting a little crowded in here?

July 10, 2007 · Leave a Comment

Wow, apparently you young kids of today like that rock ‘n’ roll music. At any rate, I’ve experienced a mad surge in popularity over the past weeks.. So I figured it was time for a bit of public service.

I get a lot of questions and comments from people who love keeping up with my life but just can’t keep up with all the girls in my life.. Or they boys in my life for that matter and have asked for a quick run-down on Who’s Who in Johanland.. With the surge of new visitors who may be even more confused, I thought it was about time to get around to it.

So here you go! I created a new Who’s Who page containing a short description of the most frequently mentioned people on this blog.. Hopefully that helps a little.. It should be considered a work in progress page as I’m not feeling well today and therefor not feeling particularly creative either..

Anyways, enjoy!

Le Mads est desparu!

June 1, 2007 · Leave a Comment

So, for those not quite down with the Danish lingo: Apparently Mads got a little upset that I used images of him passed out drunk as a header for this site ;) So in the interest of keeping everybody happy, I figured I’d better go and change that.. So here’s a new, even more obscure one for now!

New layout!

January 18, 2007 · Leave a Comment

Got bored last night, so I played a bit with the layout of the site. Now seeing as I’m not the only one who reads this blog (that’d be kinda weird, wouldn’t it?), I figured I’d put it up for a vote whether to keep it or not.

So this is your chance to experience democracy in action.. Please take a second to vote in the poll on the right whether or not to keep this new design.

Now with photos

July 6, 2006 · Leave a Comment

Small update to the blog.. Well, besides the obvious cosmetic changes that have been going on. I added links to my Flickr Photo account on the right. Not a whole lot to look at yet but a few pics from our trip to Germany last night.

By the way, these were taken with my phone (Sony Ericsson W810i), so the quality isn’t top notch. It’s more than passable, though.

I suspect I’ll be adding more pictures in the days and weeks to come. Meanwhile, enjoy the beer and rum! :D

How NOT to steal a Sidekick

June 7, 2006 · Leave a Comment

These guys not only kept the Sidekick they found in a taxi in NYC, but then took pics of their whole family with it as well as signing on to AOL. Man that’s not only wrong but also incredibly dumb.. Anyways, this guy launched a one man crusade to get his friends Sidekick back, I thought he deserved a link. The more people who know about this, the better.
