Move over, Wikipedia!

… Your favorite, Conservative, religious, right-wing nuts bring you.. Conservapedia!

A conservative encyclopedia you can trust.

Conservapedia has over 4,100 educational, clean and concise entries on historical, scientific, legal, and economic topics, including more than 350 lectures and term lists. There have been over 2,700,000 page views and over 21,800 page edits. Already Conservapedia has become one of the largest user-controlled free encyclopedias on the internet. This site is growing rapidly.”

But hey, don’t just listen to the sales pitch.. Let’s pause for a while and examine some of the cold, truthful facts brought to you by these wonderful people:

“kangaroos, like all modern animals, originated in the Middle East[1] and are the descendants of the two founding members of the modern kangaroo baramin that were taken aboard Noah’s Ark prior to the Great Flood. (..) Their legs are strong and powerful, designed by God for leaping.

“Homosexuality is a sexual attraction between members of the same sex. It is condemned by the Bible as an egregiously sinful act.”

“Most scientists believe that dinosaurs lived from 230 million until 65 million years ago and that they are all currently extinct (..) However, there are a number of lines of evidence that point to dinosaurs and man coexisting. [2] [3] For example, trained scientists have reported seeing a live dinosaur. [4]

Young Earth Creationists believe, based primarily on Biblical sources, but also drawing on archeological and fossil evidence, that dinosaurs were created on the 6th day of the Creation Week[10], approximately 6,000 years ago; that they lived in the Garden of Eden in harmony with other animals, eating only plants[11]; that pairs of various dinosaur baramins were taken onto Noah’s Ark during the Great Flood and were preserved from drowning[12]; that fossilized dinosaur bones originated during the mass killing of the Flood[13]; and that some descendants of those dinosaurs taken aboard the Ark still roam the earth today[14].”

Yea, these guys are going places alright.. Don’t just take my word for it, look at the facts.. They’re already bigger than Rush Limbaugh, the second most popular Conservative website in America!

Need more laughs? http://www.conservapedia.com/Examples_of_Bias_in_Wikipedia

Monday update:

Geeze, browsing this site is fun! I’ll throw in a few more just for the laugh of it, feel free to contribute in the comments section.

“[Howard] Stern is a nonpracticing Jew. It is important to note that Stern and his staff often mock God Need Citation and the show is widely considered inappropriate for children, due to inappropriate content (both related to religion and not).” – That’s interesting.. Wild claims of mocking God, but no citation to prove it.. Huh?

“Hundreds of innocent civilians have been killed by Israeli forces including a disproportionate number of children. Entire villages and refugee camps are routinely shelled in retaliation for the actions of a Palestinian freedom fighter attempting to strike back against the Israeli attacks on their homes.

Palestinian homes and shops are routinely looted and demolished by Jewish settlers or by the Israeli army.

Palestinian christians, largely living in and around Bethlehem are also targets of Israeli aggresion. Their land and homes are routinely confiscated and demolished and several innocent Christian children have been shot and killed by Israeli forces.

Israel has many racist laws that give preference to Jews. Public schools, for example, must have a 95% majority of Jewish children attendees.” – So, Wikipedia was too biased?

  2. Heh.. You’re welcome.. Just goes to show that even while working on a stupid assignment at 2:30 in the morning, you can still stumble upon interesting things on the magic world that is the Internet! 🙂

  3. That’s SOOOO funny!

Actually, I’m one of the scientists, who have seen a live dinosaurs! They are awesome creatures, and if you pet them just right, they wag their tail! (They like M&M’s, by the way–especially the blue ones.)

  4. Dude, we should so try to edit that into the article! I mean, it couldn’t be more inaccurate than some of the “facts” already in there, right? 😉

  5. More attacks against Conservapedia.. Poor Christians:

  6. What the f***?! Are you indicating that I haven’t seen a live dinosaur? Actually, I’ve got a cute little T-Rex out on my terrace … Well, okay, maybe not!

But yeah, let’s edit it into the article! 😛

  7. WTF?! Geez.. O_o

  8. Haha, thanks for stopping by, Monterra.. I figured you’d enjoy this post.

“I am my own God, God walking earth.”

Seriously, though, just to clarify, I love Christians as much as the next guy.. Even Conservatives I can deal with to some point.. But bias, religious or not, just rubs me the wrong way.. And what is this about Wikipedia becoming biased and un-american? Huh.. I think the above examples show just a hint of bias in their own ranks.
